Business Development Associate

POSITION PURPOSE
The Business Development Associate is an hourly internship position that supports IHETS’ member engagement and marketing initiatives including lead generation, customer relationship management, sales forecasting, and additional sales-related activities as needed. This internship requires a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week during the summer and a minimum 20 hours per week during the fall/spring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions listed below. The list is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned. IHETS will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
• Prepare weekly sales status reports
• Assist with sales forecasting
• Engage and follow up with customers; log interactions using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
• Prepare customer presentations and technology demonstrations
• Assess competitive market conditions
• Support inside sales activities with designated customers
• Support marketing and service initiatives
          
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or related experience:
• Graduate or undergraduate students should be enrolled in their institution’s business, marketing or related program with a 3.0 GPA or higher, working toward a degree
• Familiarity with sales and marketing concepts and terms; previous sales experience highly desirable
• Previous information technology experience is desirable, but not required
