Associate Web Developer

POSITION PURPOSE
The Associate Web Developer/Programmer is an hourly internship position that will work within the IHETS Technology Team under the mentorship of IHETS’ professional staff to develop web-based applications and back-end integration technologies for the educational space and internal operations. This hands-on internship offers great deal of responsibility and project ownership, and interaction with a variety of audiences.  This position requires a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week in the summer and a minimum of 20 hours per week in the fall/spring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions listed below. The list is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned. IHETS will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
• Write code for parts of software projects individually and in a team environment
• Research solutions to challenges encountered
• Provide programming support for IHETS’ member projects
• Other web development and programming duties as needed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or related experience:
• Graduate or undergraduate students should be pursuing a major in Information Technology or related area with a 3.0 GPA or higher
• Base knowledge and experience in at least two of the following technologies: HTML, Javascript, ASP.NET, or PHP
• Experience with using, installing, operating and troubleshooting of Linux, Windows Server 2003 or 2008, Solaris, Microsoft Visual Studio or Eclipse, API design, SOAP desirable
• Solid understanding of the software engineering process and software design methodologies
