Associate Web Developer
POSITION PURPOSEThe Associate Web Developer/Programmer is an hourly internship position that will work within the IHETS Technology Team under the mentorship of IHETS’ professional staff to develop web-based applications and back-end integration technologies for the educational space and internal operations. This hands-on internship offers great deal of responsibility and project ownership, and interaction with a variety of audiences. This position requires a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week in the summer and a minimum of 20 hours per week in the fall/spring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions listed below. The list is not exhaustive; other duties may be assigned. IHETS will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.• Write code for parts of software projects individually and in a team environment • Research solutions to challenges encountered • Provide programming support for IHETS’ member projects• Other web development and programming duties as needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or related experience:• Graduate or undergraduate students should be pursuing a major in Information Technology or related area with a 3.0 GPA or higher • Base knowledge and experience in at least two of the following technologies: HTML, Javascript, ASP.NET, or PHP• Experience with using, installing, operating and troubleshooting of Linux, Windows Server 2003 or 2008, Solaris, Microsoft Visual Studio or Eclipse, API design, SOAP desirable• Solid understanding of the software engineering process and software design methodologies
