Committees

The following advisory committees report to the IHETS Board of Directors:

Executive Committee

Reporting directly to the board, the IHETS Executive Committee is composed of the board chair and the chairs of each IHETS advisory committee. These individuals determine how to move forward with and resolve policy and operational issues. They complete other duties as directed by the board. The committee also provides the board with an annual report on all IHETS governance activities.

Technology Services Committee

The Technology Services Committee is charged with providing regular input, recommendations, and counsel on matters related to current and future IHETS technology services and programs, including I-Light. The committee provides guidance relating to new technology adoption and implementation.

Academic Services Committee

The Academic Services Committee (formerly IPSE - Indiana Partnership for Statewide Education) plans and implements eLearning initiatives, services and coordination in support of online education through the Indiana College Network (ICN). Topics include academic and learner support matters pertaining to inter-institutional online learning initiatives.

Educational Broadband Services (EBS) Task Force

The EBS Task Force was formed to oversee spectrum usage and policy for the EBS-managed frequencies within the State of Indiana to ensure compliance with FCC educational use requirements. IHETS manages 26 of these 29 frequencies and is working with member institutions on testing and WiMax deployment and in the creation of projects that fit the service mission of the consortium.
