Simon Kissler, Director of Information Technology / Co-Interim Executive Director
Simon Kissler, a native of Germany, came to IHETS after 15 years working in Higher Education Information Technology as well as the technology consulting sector. Prior to joining the IHETS team, Simon served as Director of Networking and Emerging Technologies at Valparaiso University where he worked with commercial technologies as well as open source and other community projects to develop innovative solutions to further the mission and vision of the university. Throughout his career, Kissler has focused on developing and shaping technology solutions that marry advanced concepts with real world constraints and complexities. At IHETS, he oversees design, implementation, and operation of IHETS’ technology platforms as well as working with members to build better and more effective solutions. In addition to his professional pursuits, he is a member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and the Rotary Club of Indianapolis. Kissler received his bachelors degree in Computer Science from Valparaiso University.
Kristen Weaver, Director of Marketing and Human Resources / Co-Interim Executive Director
With a background in television, public relations and public service, Kristen Weaver joins IHETS after six years working for the City of Indianapolis as Public Information Officer and Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for Indy Parks and Recreation. Prior to working in the public sector, Weaver worked in technology PR in Massachusetts, and in TV production for the CNN Political Unit in Atlanta, GA, covering national politics and elections. Weaver earned her B.A. in political science from DePauw University and her M.S. in public relations from Boston University. Weaver's IHETS responsibilities include advocacy via member, media and government relations; marketing and branding; and human resource development. Weaver is a member of PRSA; Y.E.S. - the young executive's group supporting the Indy chapter of Dress for Success; the 2009-2010 Executive Women’s Leadership Program of United Way of Central Indiana; and the College Mentor's for Kids' Program Impact Committee.
