IHETS helps the Vote Indiana Team webcast meetings to keep members and the public up-to-date
Amidst a legislative hiatus, the Vote Indiana Team, led by Secretary of State Todd Rokita, deliberates the terms of the Help America Vote Act, a United States federal law put into effect by the office of former President George W. Bush in October of 2002. “HAVA” includes provisions for a number of statewide budgetary concerns, which include contact areas from current and future poll place accessibility standards to the technology used in the voter registration, voter identification, and voting processes. The major question that the Vote Indiana Team needs to discuss and, in the end, agree upon is that of where the funds granted by this federal law are needed most, while making sure that Indiana, as a whole, benefits from the terms of the legislation.
To make these difficult decisions, the Vote Indiana Team brings together a conglomerate of committee members from throughout Indiana. These committee meetings involve a number of Indiana state representatives from the House of Representatives, Senate, County Clerks, and advocates for ethnic and cultural minorities. Since the Vote Indiana Team’s discussions and final decisions affect so many people, the meetings themselves are webcast for public viewing with the help of IHETS.
IHETS is a company that is focused on technology, education, collaboration, and its impact in the state of Indiana. Beginning with a few state-funded higher education institutions, IHETS has grown to support Indiana State agencies, companies and conglomerates across the great state of Indiana in their education and telecommunication needs. Due to the need for a special sessions to renegotiate the terms of the state budget, the Vote Indiana Team meetings have been postponed until further notice.
