IHETS Interactive is a Web-based conferencing system with robust tools for real-time communication and collaboration, including two-way video and audio, text chat, application sharing, electronic whiteboard, annotated PowerPoint presentations, polling, and quizzing. IHETS Interactive uses the Adobe Connect platform and allows members to teach online courses, host interactive meetings, and collaborate to share content in real-time or on demand.

To access IHETS Interactive a web browser and Internet access is all you need.

Hosts

"Hosts" are typically faculty and instructors teaching a course during a given semester, or the conveners of one-time or regularly scheduled administrative meetings. IHETS provides training with step-by-step instructions outlining key features, functions, and tasks that hosts most often use and need for a successful meeting or class. For those members interested in trying IHETS Interactive, a test account may be used on a trial basis.

Participants

Participants may be students completing higher education courses and associated class projects, or faculty and staff attendees of administrative meetings. IHETS can also provide training and technical support to participants.

Scheduling

To use IHETS Interactive for a class or meeting, reservations are made in advance by completing a scheduling request form. Please note: a number of users have designated contacts who coordinate all IHETS Interactive requests and reservations on behalf of their faculty or staff. If you are unsure if your organization has already established a contact, or to learn more about the scheduling process, please contact the IHETS Help Desk.

Receive sites

If your organization or facility would like to serve as a receive site for educational programming delivered via IHETS Interactive, please contact the IHETS Help Desk to learn more about the technical requirements, registration and validation process, and self-testing.
