Janet K. Poley, Ph.D.
Dr. Janet Poley, a leader in developing national and international collaborative distance education initiatives, is president and CEO of
ADEC, a distance education consortium of 50 state universities and land grant colleges. She serves as the ADEC liaison to the National
Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges (NASAULGC) Commission on Information Technology, is a member of the Governor of
Nebraska's Advisory Committee on the Western Governors University, and has served as co-chair of the EDUCOM National Learning Infrastructure

conference with an overview of what is happening and about to happen on the new media bandwagon. Her presentation offered examples of how
higher education programs around the country are meeting the challenge of transforming the options for nontraditional learners and gave her
perspectives on future directions for her own organization, the Indiana Partnership for Statewide Education, and distance education
generally.
