IPSE Awards for Innovation and Leadership

Overview

The Indiana Partnership for Statewide Education (IPSE) awards program was established in 2002 as a means of recognizing Indiana faculty and instructional support staff who have exhibited extraordinary innovation and leadership in the utilization of technology to enhance teaching and learning, both on and off campus. IHETS administers the annual awards competition on behalf of IPSE. There are three award categories—two for faculty and one for instructional support staff—in the following areas:

The annual Call for Nominations is issued early in the spring and winners are announced at the IHETS/IPSE All Partners Conference in April. When the new Call for Nominations is available, it will be posted here. Selection criteria and eligibility information for each award category are given below:

Category: Teaching with Technology in a Distance Education Program

Eligibility: Individual faculty who have used one-way video, two-way video, and/or the Internet to teach at least two distance education or hybrid courses. At least 50 percent of the instruction for the qualifying courses must have been delivered via technology.

Selection criteria:

Category: Teaching with Technology on Campus

Eligibility: Individual faculty who have been using technology in on-campus classes for at least two years.

Selection criteria:

Category: Support for Online Teaching and Learning

Eligibility: Institutional personnel who support online teaching and learning, including but not limited to librarians, instructional designers, producers, on-air directors, graphics designers, Web developers, and multimedia producers. Individual and team nominations will be accepted. If awarded to a team, the prize money will be divided among the team members.
