Connected Corporation Presentation
The meeting began with a presentation from Connected Corporation by Doreen Collins and Rich Copar. Doreen began with background information on Connected and Rich followed with the technology side.

Fractional DS3 Pricing
Tully distributed a handout with fractional DS3 pricing along with recommendation 1) A $100,000 a year for Internet pricing. 2) Or consider $100,000 for Internet2 opportunity for a fractional full DS3's. Nay asked if this would provide options for circuit support. To move ahead we need the ITC to develop a plan on Internet2, and assist in developing a plan for DS3. The $75,000 is good through July 1st with a 3-5 month timeline for ordering a DS3. Existing DS3's will have no effect on video circuits.

A recommendation to the management committee will need to presented on DS3 pricing and Internet2. Higher Education and K12 may split the cost and this may be accomplished in two or three segments

An accepted plan of $1000,000+ factored in the plan would include applications, video and video streaming. Ellen Watson, Fred Nay, Jason Whiteaker and Ed Tully will develop a use plan and present at the next ITC meeting.

A 50/50 split with Intelenet and move forward in our conversation of the 50/50 of the ITC network with a list of planned projects that we know are coming. All of this will contribute as part of the plan for 2002/2003 of bandwidth increases.

These numbers are necessary for the next fiscal year and present at the March meeting of the management committee. Neil Vines, chair, Ellen Watson and Fred Nay will form this subcommittee. The ITC is in support of this proposal.

Tully reported that the network has changed from 56k to 128k; IHETS pays $7200 for a 128k. Tully will be sending out an email to everyone on the 1/3 and 2/3 breakdowns.

Update on IP video project
IP video update can be located at ihets.org.

Shared Technical Information
Nay asked if it would be beneficial to anyone to assemble a list of schools that are currently running courses and a list of experts to contact. It was suggested to setup a dynamics dbase and make it available on the web and use a template with pointers to keep unique at your own institution. Nay will proceed to work on a plan and share with everyone

ITC Charter
A goal of the ITC is to submit a charter to the management committee for approval.

Tech Summit
King announced that IHETS would host an all day Tech Summit on March 7th at the NCAA. First Virtual and Cisco will be in attendance and conducting Q & A sessions. This will be presented from a highly technical perspective and is recommended for skilled technical staff.
