INDIANAPOLIS—Beginning April 1, WFYI Public Radio listeners will be able to enjoy such program staples as Fresh Air, Talk of the Nation, The World, Thistle and Shamrock and Car Talk from the ease of their personal computer.

WFYI Public Radio, through a unique partnership with the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System (IHETS), will offer live, around-the-clock streaming of its NPR/PRI News/Talk, blues and classical music programming. Now, regardless of where WFYI Public Radio listeners live or work, the station will be just a mouse click away—wfyi.org.

“We frequently hear from devoted listeners who are unable to receive a clear WFYI signal in the office building where they are employed, or they have just relocated outside the central Indiana area and can no longer hear their favorite 90.1 FM productions,” said Jed Duvall, WFYI Public Radio’s station manager and director of audio services. “Through this new online service, Hoosiers anywhere in the world will be able to once again enjoy the sweet sounds of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, relax on a Saturday afternoon with Nothing But the Blues, or stay connected with the central Indiana cultural community by listening to The Art of the Matter and The Listening Room on their personal computer or business laptop” he added.

WFYI Public Radio connects listeners with the finest in NPR news, blues and classical music. For a complete look at 90.1 FM’s monthly program offerings, visit the station’s Web site—wfyi.org.

IHETS is a consortium of higher education institutions, which include both public and independent colleges and universities throughout Indiana. The organization serves as an integral part of the rapidly evolving telecommunication and educational environment in Indiana.
