1. Click on the discussion topic, or "thread" to reply to the group. Click on the participant's name to send an email to that person.

2. Post thoughtful comments. Simply posting "I agree" with no explanation doesn't advance the discussion. Ask yourself, "How can I move this discussion and everyone's understanding forward with my response?" and "What are others saying that is helping me move forward?"

3. Build off of the comments made by others, and similarly, provide building blocks that will allow them to take the discussion further.

4. Respectfully respond to the comments of others.

6. Help other discussion participants. If you know the answer to a question that has been posted, please provide it.
