IHETS Television user handbook
Appendix C: Checklist for IHETS Television reception
NOTE: The lease for the satellite system will expire June 30, 2006. IHETS will not support the system after that time and is offering a new service, IHETS Interactive, to replace it.
The IHETS services liaison is responsible for carrying out the following steps
or ensuring that they are performed by a television reception coordinator or
other qualified individual.
- Check the television usage agreement for errors or omissions in information.
- Obtain academic approval, if needed.
- Provide all data requested under the receiving site information section of the television usage agreement. Sign and return the agreement to the originating institution, as specified, as soon as possible.
- Distribute the completed program information sheet as appropriate, i.e., to telephone operator, appropriate departmental staff, etc.
- Arrange for technical support as outlined in the operating guidelines for IHETS-delivered television activities. Technical staff may want to keep a calendar of events on which to note activities scheduled for your campus via IHETS Television. Depending on the size of the campus, this might be a daily work sheet, a weekly calendar, or a monthly checklist of activities scheduled. Or the campus may wish to use work sheets for each television activity scheduled, including such information as the need for Digital TeleResponse, room assigned, special equipment, and additional pertinent information.
- Immediately report any problems occurring during the activity to IHETS Help Desk or use the “Help/Trouble” button on the Digital TeleResponse unit.
- Initiate billing for the program within 30 days after completion of the activity
or series.
