The School of Extended Education at Ball State University offers a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate degree programs via distance education. Courses are offered via the Internet, interactive satellite, independent learning, and live off-campus classroom instruction. Several non-credit training opportunities are also available.
The College Cooperative Southeast is a collaboration between Indiana's two-year and four-year higher education institutions to expand post-secondary educational opportunities for citizens of Southeastern Indiana. There are 16 learning centers, or viewing sites, located throughout Southeast Indiana, where students access live, televised courses via satellite direct from major colleges and universities in Indiana and other states. Most televised classes are interactive and students can talk one-on-one with their instructor and other students through a telephone network. Self-paced courses are also available through video cassette, CD-ROM, and via the Internet. Each center is fully equipped with Internet-connected computers for completing and submitting homework, exchanging information with other students, and conducting research.

The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a residential school for approximately 300 Indiana juniors and seniors with high academic potential. Through Office of Outreach Programs, the Academy also offers low-cost distance education courses. All of the Academy’s distance education courses qualify for the state’s Academic Honors Diploma requirements.

Indiana College Network (ICN) is your gateway to e-learning from Indiana colleges and universities. A service of the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System (IHETS), ICN provides comprehensive access to our member institutions' combined distributed learning activities, including a Web site rich in resources, including a searchable online catalog of more than 2,600 classes and nearly 200 certificate and degree programs; a network of more than 70 ICN Learning Centers throughout the state; and a toll-free hotline for strong learner support.
Indiana State University distance programs are designed for working professionals who cannot commute to campus and for the growing number of individuals who prefer courses delivered via educational technologies such as the Internet, videotapes, live television, and correspondence. Many courses and programs can be completed entirely in your community via distance education. Other distance "friendly" programs require minimal visits to the ISU campus and are designed to accommodate the schedule and geographic restrictions of working adults.

Indiana University was the first institution of higher learning in the state of Indiana to offer an online bachelor's degree. IU's Independent Study Program has won 54 course awards from the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA), more than any other program of its kind. The university-wide School of Continuing Studies has grown to include the following courses and degree options, all available at a distance:
- More than 195 undergraduate independent study courses, 58 of which include online options
- More than 100 independent study high school courses, 36 of which include online options
- An Associate of Arts in General Studies available through correspondence courses only, online courses only, or a combination of online and correspondence courses

All of the Community Learning Network's distance courses are asynchronous so that students can access them on their own schedule, including the online/video courses, which are offered via one or more of the following delivery methods: cable television, digital video disk (DVD), compact disc (CD), videotape, or online through the Indiana Multimedia Distribution System (IMDS). In all of the video courses, students interact with other students and the instructor through Oncourse. While some courses are less than a semester in length, each is on the same semester schedule as on-campus classes. Students register for them in exactly the same way, and the same expectations prevail.
The Office of Lifelong Learning at the Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) offers programs, conferences, and Web-based courses for nurses and other health care professionals. Programs are directed to the clinical practice of nursing and nursing education in acute care, long-term care, and other health care settings. Delivery methods for these program feature both traditional presentation and computer-directed learning. IUSON offers an online PhD in nursing science degree, online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) courses, and an online RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

The Indiana Virtual Academy is an online virtual high school offering more than 50 online courses meeting Indiana standards. In addition to the online courses, online SAT, PSAT, and ACT prep courses—as well as SkillsTutor remediation for ISTEP testing—are also available.
Indiana Wesleyan University's online degree programs are designed for today's working professionals. They overcome time and geographic barriers by delivering courses via the Internet. At IWUOnline, students have the opportunity to take a course, finish a bachelor's degree or start a master's degree in a number of fields, including: Business Administration Management, Business Information Systems, Education, Biblical Literature, English, Music and much more.
Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana includes 23 regional campuses and other instructional sites around the state. Ivy Tech offers associate degrees, certificates, and non-credit training in a variety of areas, including: business, health, public safety, technology, liberal arts, and arts and design. Ivy Tech also offers training and services to business and industry through its Corporate and Continuing Education Departments. The Community Learning Centers of South Central Education Alliance (SCEA) partners with Ball State University, Indiana University, Indiana State University, Ivy Tech State College, Purdue University, University of Southern Indiana, and Vincennes University, among others, to host face-to-face and distance education courses providing local citizens with access to higher education. The SCEA Learning Centers—located in Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Martin, Orange and Washington counties—provide proctoring services, enrollment and advising support, computer labs, satellite and two-way video technology for students taking distance education and face-to-face courses. USI's Distance Education Program enables students to enroll in courses that fit their circumstances or lifestyle. Distance education courses at USI utilize delivery technologies including the Internet, videotape, CD-Rom, interactive television, videostreaming, and other media.

Utilizing a satellite feed, the Internet, and classroom instruction, the Walker Career Center is the first in the state to offer adult education to Hispanic people in the areas of GED preparation and testing, adult literacy, and elementary and middle school subjects. The program operates in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate, which provides trained volunteer instructors, books and materials, as well as the equipment to receive distance learning classes from Mexico via satellite and the Internet.
