Internet2 CEO to Keynote Tech Summit 2007

Van Houweling photo

IHETS is pleased that Dr. Douglas E. Van Houweling, President and CEO of Internet2, will launch the annual daylong conference for information technology staff from Indiana’s colleges and universities.

This year’s Tech Summit theme is The Rolling IT Horizon: Jumping the Curve. One focus for the event will be new opportunities available through I-Light, Indiana’s regional optical network for higher education. Though campuses have been connected to Internet2 since 2002, network capacity limitations prevented full use of the connections. With high capacity now widely available, colleges will be positioned to take advantage of a range of advanced technologies.
