INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Cooperative Library Services Authority (INCOLSA) has launched a new Web-based video streaming initiative to provide professional training and continuing education classes for library staff.
The project, which began February 14 and will be available to staff at more than 230 INCOLSA libraries throughout the state, was made possible through a partnership with the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System (IHETS).
IHETS is working with INCOLSA to provide 30 hours of live video streaming and one year of archived programming, which will allow the training sessions and classes to be viewed by library staff on-demand or after they aired live.
The streaming project will provide library staff across Indiana with the ability to gain new skills and increase their knowledge by completing classes from the convenience of their workplaces or homes. In addition, the archived courses will be an important part of training new staff as they join Indiana’s library system, allowing consistent training across the state.
