IHETS is reviewing records and will issue recommendations for disposal of receive site satellite equipment
|
INDIANAPOLIS—As the move toward full production of IHETS Interactive progresses and elimination of the satellite system nears, satellite equipment deployed at receive sites around the state will no longer be functional after June 30. The receive site equipment was originally issued to facilitate use of the IHETS satellite system for delivering distance education courses. Based on a preliminary review of IHETS records, it is estimated approximately 70 percent of receive sites own their equipment outright; the remaining 30 percent is owned by IHETS. A complete review and confirmation of equipment ownership is underway. Once ownership is determined and all pieces are accounted for, recommendations for disposal will be issued. Receive site personnel are asked to NOT dispose of satellite equipment until they are contacted by an IHETS representative. If there are questions or concerns, please contact Rauf Khalid, assistant director of data networks, at rkhalid@ihets.org or 317.263.8919. ### |
