IHETS video conferencing

Scheduling process and procedures

Advanced bridging capabilities allow IHETS to join sites with either IP or ISDN codecs in a single multipoint video conference. There is a maximum capacity of 36 participants and conference bandwidth is set at 384 KB. IHETS has implemented QoS (quality of service) technology to facilitate the delivery of high-quality video on H.323 calls.

IHETS uses Radvision's Click to Meet™ video conferencing technology. To participate in an IHETS video conference, your codec must be certified with Click To Meet and its conference client must be installed (see the Click To Meet Tutorial).

Scheduling a video conference

To schedule a video conference, authorized originators from member institutions should complete the IHETS IP video request form

Please note that we recommend you schedule video conferences at least two weeks in advance. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests made with less notice, but we cannot guarantee availability.

Making changes after a video conference has been scheduled

If a conference is scheduled, authorized originators can make changes, additions, or cancellations if necessary. The IHETS IP video request for change form requires login information (if you need login information, contact the originating institution and/or video conference participants for a project number as proper identification. See the page on creating your project number for more information about project numbers.)

Conference originators or organizers will receive a confirmation with the day, time, and bridge access number(s) needed to dial the conference. The originators should then distribute the dial-in information to conference participants.
