What is IP video and how does it work?

IP video is a video conferencing technology that uses the Internet as the transmission medium. Using a camera, microphone, monitor, and a piece of equipment called a codec, IP video allows you to participate in live, interactive video conferences in a conference room setting, via a medium-sized monitor, or at your desktop computer. This video traffic is carried along your Ethernet connection and out to the Internet, connecting you with any other setup capable of IP video calls. A new capability called Quality of Service ensures that regardless of the amount of Internet traffic your location is experiencing, your video will never suffer.
