| In 1929, Emory A. Richardson was appointed poet laureate. In 1977, House Concurrent Resolution 63 recognized Arthur Franklin Mapes as poet laureate. Since 1945, the Indiana State Federation of Poetry Clubs has appointed a poet laureate. The current term of office is three years. The current laureate's term expires in 2001. |
