Session description:
Are terms like podcasting subscription services, audio digitizing, hardware devices, and publishing platforms too much technical jargon? There are more than iPods in podcasting and MP3s have been around since the mid 1990s. The presenters will discuss these technical aspects and the challenges of casting at this month's session.
About the presenters:
John C. Dailey received his Ph.D. in communication from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998. His primary creative efforts lie in the area of human-computer interaction, specifically the design of multimedia environments that communicate in interesting yet intuitive ways. Dr. Dailey's creative interests include: multimedia interactivity design, Web application development, new communication technologies, interactive storytelling, and VR photography. Prior to his academic career, Dailey spent over 12 years producing live television programming, serving in capacities ranging from studio camera operator to electronic graphic artist to on-air director.Barry Jackson has been in the Web development field for the last eight years. Barry is the Webmaster for Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana (Region 6) and has his own business, SBJ Design. His primary expertise lies in ASP, .NET, ColdFusion, and JavaScript. He has designed and implemented dynamically driven Web sites for small businesses, banks, and large corporations.
George Khazal received his B.S in computer information technology from Purdue University and is currently pursuing a master's degree in management at Indiana Wesleyan University. He is a digital media services consultant for IHETS and an adjunct faculty member in the School of Engineering at IUPUI.
