Overview

IHETS uses a variety of tools to provide advanced network monitoring services to consortium members. These services are critical for statistical trend analysis, failure and pre-failure notification of network problems, and network management capabilities.

At the center of these tools is a high-performance network monitoring system developed and built by IHETS. The system allows IHETS staff and consortium members to monitor bandwidth utilization, error rates on specific circuits, set alarms for arbitrary conditions, and provide extensive reporting capabilities for the network.
