IHETS network security

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Is my organization large enough to have a firewall?

Organizations of all sizes are susceptible to attacks and /or hacks. If your organization doesn't have a firewall, it is vulnerable.

What does a firewall protect against?

Our firewalls are configured to only accept traffic that is requested/initiated from within your network. They will not allow outside traffic that wasn't requested from your network to enter.

Do the firewalls stop viruses and worms?

Yes, a firewall can stop a virus and/or worm if the equipment that is purchased has the capability to do so.

My organization already has a firewall. Can IHETS manage it?

Yes, depending on the make and model of the firewall.

Is network safety for my organization 100 percent certain with a firewall?

No, it never is; however, IHETS professionals will ensure your organization's firewall is updated with the latest technology and patches as they become available.

Can a firewall act as DHCP or NAT/PAT server?

Yes. Due to its robust nature, the a firewall can run NAT (network address translation) and PAT (port address translation), thus freeing up your router to do what it does best—route traffic.
